About this Library
Dowlais Public Library is a Grade II Listed building, designed by E. A. Johnson of Abergavenny and built between 1903 and 1907. Funded by a grant from the Carnegie Trust, the library was established as a Free Public Library.

Dowlais Library houses a wide range of materials – Fiction and Non-Fiction, Junior, Teen and Adult in Welsh and English. We have a selection of Large Print, Audio, Graphic Novels, and the Reading Well collection.
Dowlais Library also houses the Welsh Language and Welsh History and Local History Collection.
